An update was sought for the progression of the proposed library for Clane.
The matter was discussed at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting, which took place on Friday, April 5 last.
Social Democrats councillor Aidan Farrelly enquired about the progress of the library at the meeting.
In response, Kildare County Council (KCC) told Cllr Farrelly the following via its report at the meeting: "The consultant Design Team have updated plans to reflect inputs from Kildare Climate Team and particularly the Energy Officer.
"The Design Team are now preparing detailed drawings, documentation and a Bill of Quantities for a construction tender."
KCC concluded: "The library service still awaits the outcome of a funding application to the Department of Rural and Community Development."
Cllr Farrelly in turn told KCC that he accepted its report.
