Naas author Wayne Byrne is celebrating the release of his latest book, Hired Guns: Portraits of Women in Alternative Music, with a launch event in Naas Library and Cultural Centre on Friday, April 26 at 7.30pm.

The book is a collaboration between Wayne and his friend Amanda Kramer, the keyboardist of post-punk legends The Psychedelic Furs and who has previously been a member of major acts such as 10,000 Maniacs, World Party, Siouxsie Sioux, Thompson Twins and others. Together, the pair have written an acclaimed book charting the lives and careers of ten notable female touring musicians who have performed with acts such as David Bowie, U2, Sinead O'Connor, Tears for Fears, Peter Gabriel, Page & Plant, Simple Minds, Cyndi Lauper, and more.
