Ex boyfriend is sending up to 500 texts a day to woman, court told

She also alleged assault

A woman claimed at a Naas District Court sitting that her former boyfriend sends her 400 to 500 text messages a day.

The woman was seeking court protection under family law legislation.

She alleged that her ex boyfriend is sending the texts and she also claimed that he had assaulted her.

The man was not present in court and was not represented.

When asked  by Judge Desmond Zaidan what the messages are about she replied they are usually threatening and “to say he’ll come down if I don’t see him.”

Judge Zaidan granted an interim protection order and adjourned the matter for a fuller hearing on July 8 when the ex boyfriend will be asked to attend.
