Kildare County Council (KCC) has said that it will 'continue to exert pressure' on a developer over a project in Maynooth.

The comments were made in response to a motion submitted by Fine Gael councillor Tim Durkan at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District on Friday, May 3 last.

Cllr Durkan, who is also the Cathaoirleach for the Municipal District, motioned for KCC 'to write to the developer concerned requesting a date as to when the section of the Maynooth Orbital Route will open to traffic from Straffan Road to Celbridge Road, Maynooth.'

CROSS-PARTY SUPPORT

His motion was seconded by Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney.

KCC responded to Cllr Durkan’s motion by saying: "KCC will continue to exert pressure on the developer of Mullen Park to get this section of road open."

In response, Cllr Durkan said that he accepted KCC’s report at the meeting.

The motion by Fine Gael Cllr Tim Durkan (LEFT) was supported by Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney (RIGHT).
