A Ballitore man has been accused of being part of a group who allegedly assaulted another person with a hammer.
The claim was heard at Naas District Court on Thursday, May 23 last.
Details of the allegation, which relates to Craig Fagan, with an address listed as Fullers Court in Ballitore, were relayed to Judge Desmond Zaidan by gardaí.
The 34-year-old accused appeared via video-link as he is remanded in custody at present.
Mr Fagan stands accused of committing the offence at Ballitore on May 19 last.
He has specifically been charged with being in contravention of Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997, which refers to assault causing harm offences.
Garda Sergeant David Hanrahan told the judge that the alleged injured party was possibly assaulted by a group of people, and that it is suspected that Mr Fagan was allegedly among this group.
The identities of the other suspects were not disclosed on the court date in question.
MATTER ADJOURNED
As directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) were not ready on the date in question, Judge Zaidan adjourned the case involving the accused to June 6.
He remanded Mr Fagan in custody until the case resumes.
DPP directions are expected on the next court date.
