Voters across County Kildare are slow going to the polls today - despite the sunny weather.
The turnout will obviously improve as the day progresses and at a faster rate.
However, just 2.6% of voters had cast their votes in Kill b y 9.30 this morning and this is appreciably lower than the last time pepole voted in a new county council five years ago.
Things were a little brisker in Newbridge with one polling station reporting a turnout of 4.%% and another has seen 4% of of those entitled to vote do so.
One station at Confey, near Leixlip, had a turnout of 3.4%.
