Athy Macra is to host the Leinster Macra 80th anniversary field day in the Showgrounds, Athy on Sunday June 16.
Kicking off at 1pm, this will be an opportunity for past members to reminisce about days gone by and a chance for new members to experience the organisation. Events on the day include, Macra farmskills, demonstration, the Farmyard Frenzy obstacle course, Milk the cow, sheaf tossing, tug of war, welly throwing, sack race, Macra commemoration, and much more.
Leinster Vice- President Patrick Jordan said; “of course I would like to commend Athy Macra for hosting this field day and the organization nationally was only delighted to bring Macra back to where it all began by Stephen Cullinane and others in 1944”.
