UPDATE: There are unlikely to be any voter turnout records set in Kildare

It's unlikely that County Kildare is headed for a voter turnout record.

Voters continue to make their way to polling stations today to elected a new county council.

One polling station in Naas had a turnout of 23% by 3.30pm - and that was one of the highest in the county.

Two other polling stations in the same town reported turnouts of 20.94% and 19.2%.

Allenwood was at 21%.

Leixlip-Confey reported 18.88% but among the lowest was Kill's sole voting station (17%) and this was running at 3-4% less than in 2019.

Some other figures obtained were from Celbridge (20%), Newbridge (20% and 21%), Kilcock (20%), Maynooth (20.73% and 18.6%), Athy (18%).
