Kildare local election update: Brendan Wyse looks likely to top the poll in Clane

Tally results starting to come in at the Curragh Racecourse

Brendan Wyse (FG) looks likely to be elected to the Clane Electoral Area on the first count, according to tally figures, which have just been released.

Pádraig McEvoy (Ind) and Aidan Farrelly (SD) also look likely to retain their seats. Indications are that Willian Durkan (FG) should also be elected while Daragh Fitzpatrick (FF) is in fifth place for the fifth seat with over 300 votes ahead of the next candidate, Sinn Fein's Killian Brennan.

These are figures from the tally and are not official count results, but they give a strong indication of how things will go in the official counts which will get underway at Punchestown Racecourse this afternoon.
