Details of an alleged armed robbery incident were detailed to a Naas District Court judge.

The accusations relate to Cathriona Hunter, with an address listed as Block E in Hazelwood, Newbridge.

Garda Sergeant David Hanrahan, who was present in Naas District Court on Thursday, June 27 last, alleged that on December 16, 2022, the 37-year-old robbed staff in McLoughlin's Garage, Ballymany, Newbridge at knifepoint.

It was alleged that Ms Hunter had robbed McLoughlin's Garage of around €1,400 in cash.

The State also claims that Ms Hunter had allegedly used two knives in the course of the alleged incident.

Referring to the latter point, Judge Desmond Zaidan remarked: "Was one knife allegedly not good enough?"

WITHDRAWN CHARGE

Sgt Hanrahan also noted that one charge had been withdrawn by the State against Ms Hunter, although the exact nature of this charge was not disclosed before the court.

After a separate garda was sworn in and a book of evidence was served on the accused, Judge Zaidan sent the case involving Ms Hunter forward for trial to the present sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court.
