A Kildare town resident was fined for being 'extremely aggressive' towards gardaí while drunk.

The fine was imposed on Michael Lynch, with an address listed as 6 Ruanbeg Park, Ruanbeg Manor, Kildare town, by Judge Desmond Zaidan on Thursday, June 27 at Naas District Court.

Judge Zaidan was told by Garda Sergeant David Hanrahan that on April 8, 2023, at around 12.10am, the 43-year-old was involved in a public disorder incident while drunk at Ruanbeg Park.

Sgt Hanrahan explained that Mr Lynch was 'extremely aggressive' during the incident, and added that he was also abusive when he was brought to the nearest garda station by gardaí.

He also informed the judge that Mr Lynch has 47 previous convictions, but has none for any public disorder offences.

Judge Zaidan imposed a fine of €500, and gave Mr Lynch three months to pay this fine.
