Residential accommodation under construction in Naas
Kildare County Council is either meeting or exceeding housing targets.
According to KCC, it has a “delivery target” of 2,416 social housing units for the period 2022-2026.
And to date this has been met or bettered and the council says it continues to “deliver a pipeline of properties to meet targets over that timespan.” It saysit will consider all opportunities to create additional units.
The council also points out that it faces challenges, the most significant of which is the “availability of suitable serviced and zoned land in areas of high demand at an affordable cost.”
The council predicts that this will remain so if the housing targets are increased.
