'Outrageous' - Motorcyclist caught travelling at 159km/h in Kildare may face prison time

A motorcyclist caught travelling at what gardaí have called an "outrageous" speed has been arrested. 

According to An Garda Síochána, Athy gardaí performed a speed check recently when they detected the motorcycle travelling at a speed of 159km/h in a 60km/h zone. 

The motorcyclist was stopped, arrested and charged with dangerous driving. 

They now risk a two-year disqualification, a €5,000 fine and a term of imprisonment of up to 6 months.
