LATEST: Dozens of new homes being planned for Newbridge

Over 80 new homes are being planned off the Naas Road in Newbridge.

A planning application was submitted for the proposed development at Old Connell to Kildare County Council by Ballymore Naas Developments Limited.

The project is the second phase of a two-phase residential development in Newbridge.

The designs include provision for 125 homes on an overall site area of 4 hectares.

In the development, 86 units will comprise:

  • 24 3-bedroom homes;
  • 21 4-bedroom homes;
  • 41 apartments/duplex apartments in 2 3-storey buildings with balcony or terrace/private amenity space;

The plans include vehicle/pedestrian and cyclist access from the Naas Road, according to Building Information Ireland database. 

A relocated bus stop will be positioned at the northern section of the Naas Road and an upgraded bus stop at the southern section,

Also proposed are 120 resident car parking spaces as well as bicycle storage.

The designs include 0.57 ha of public open space including a proposed central square as well as linear parkways as well as outdoor play areas and landscaped planting.
