Rathangan's Maureen McCormack recently received the Leinster Lifetime Achievement Award in Allenwood from Scór Náisiúnta chairperson Paula McGee from County Down.

Catherine Daly, Leinster Scór chairperson, Áine Kennedy, Leinster Scór Secretary, and Jamie Ó Tuama Oifigeach Cultíur agus Scór Náisiúnta, all attended the presentation.

“Maureen is well known in Scór circles, having adjudicated the solo singing, ballad group, and instrumental music at all levels up to All Ireland,” said the organisers.

“Maureen, who is now in her 80s, currently resides in a nursing home. However, we were all thrilled to have her make the trip to Allenwood for the day to collect her well-deserved recognition. Comhgairdeas Maureen.”
