Gardaí received report of the vehicle on fire on Blackberry Lane in Newbridge, Co. Kildare yesterday evening.

Emergency services called to scene of abandoned car fire in Newbridge

Gardaí have launched an investigation following a vehicle fire on Blackberry Lane in Newbridge yesterday evening. 

A car was left abandoned and in flames on the busy road, and gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.40pm.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Gardaí also received a call at around 10pm last night reporting a car driving recklessly on the Curragh Road.

The witness who made the call said she was "petrified they were going to kill someone because of their stupidity".

In a statement, Gardaí said that "investigations are ongoing at this time".
