Update: 4.16pm, July 27, 2024 — A suspect has since been arrested by gardaí in relation to the incident.
A resident in Newbridge has issued a warning to others following a car theft incident.
According to the resident, who shared the alert via the Newbridge County Kildare Residents Community Forum on Facebook, they said that the incident took place at around 12.30am this morning (July 27, 2024) in the Kilbelin area of Newbridge.
Video camera footage of the alleged perpetrator was shared as part of the original post, in which they appear to be seen walking away from the resident's car.
The resident added: "If anyone recognises this young fella [sic] by his clothes / runners he is wearing in this [footage] please get on to me."

In addition, the resident shared a photograph which appears to show items left behind by the alleged perpetrator: a water bottle, a vape pen, and a Bob Marley-themed lighter.
