Gardaí in Celbridge are currently investigating a burglary which took place in a Costa Coffee outlet.
According to Garda Brian Carroll, who discussed the incident with KFM yesterday morning, the burglary took place on Wednesday, July 24 last at around 3.15am.
He explained that one of the windows of the outlet had been smashed, and that CCTV recovered from the scene showed 'three individuals in balaclava' at the scene.
Gda Carroll added: "A safe had been pulled out, although they [the individuals] did not obtain anything."
He concluded by calling on anyone with information about the incident to contact Celbridge Garda Station on 01 628 8222.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána had this to say: "Gardaí are investigating a burglary which occurred at a business premises on the Dublin Road, Celbridge, County Kildare on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
"The incident occurred at approximately 3.15am."
"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
