A burglary which occurred at the Further Education and Training Centre in Athy has prompted a garda investigation.
Garda Sean O'Mahony discussed the incident when he appeared on KFM on Wednesday, August 7 last.
He told host Eoin Beatty that the incident occurred during the early hours of Monday, August 5 last.
Gda O'Mahony also said that a male and female dressed in dark clothing were observed going into the building, and that one item, 'an interactive touchscreen', was stolen during the course of this incident.
"For anyone around Athy or south of the county [of Kildare], if they are offered one of these interactive touchscreens for a cheap price, they should realise that it has after being stolen somewhere," he told Mr Beatty.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of burglary that occurred at approximately 4.30am on August 5, 2024 on the Carlow Road in Athy, County Kildare."
"Investigations are ongoing at this time," they added.
