Residents in one Newbridge housing estate have been thanked for helping a woman who was involved in a road traffic collision.
The incident took place yesterday (Sunday, August 11 last) at around 6.30pm.
A user on the Newbridge Co.Kildare Residents Community Forum on Facebook explained the situation.
They said: "We would like to say a big thank you to all the lovely people that attended the scene of [a] hit and run car crash that my poor Mam was involved in last night in Liffey Hall.
"Yous [sic] are so good to look after her until I got there and to stay with us 'till emergency services came."
The user continued: "If anybody knows the two young guys that were witnesses and seen it happen, if you could send me a message, as we would like to thank them both also."
"Also if anybody has any dash cam footage that might have seen the big white van that drove off at speed, we would greatly appreciate your help."
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident that occurred, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí are investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred in Newbridge, County Kildare on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at approximately 6.30pm.
"Material damage was caused.
"No injuries were reported."
The spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing."
