An approved housing body has warned about a scam letter linking it to bogus electrical inspections.
Clúid Housing said it has been made aware of a scam letter being sent out to homes in the Celbridge area.
Clúid Housing is an independent, not-for-profit housing association, and is one of the largest approved housing bodies (AHBs) in Ireland.
The letter alleges that a company, Haughton & Young Ltd., is carrying out electrical inspections on behalf of Clúid, and will require access to the recipients’ home.
A statement by Clúid Housing said: "Haughton & Young Ltd is no longer in operation and Clúid has not scheduled any electrical inspections with them.
"We advise people not to provide access or personal details to anyone who calls to their home purporting to be from this company.
"If anyone has any concerns about the legitimacy of someone claiming to be from Clúid Housing, they should contact Clúid on 01 7072088 before granting access."
