An update has been issued by Kildare County Council (KCC) in relation to Holy Child National School, Ballycane, Naas.
KCC released the following statement: "Kildare County Council wishes to advise parents and guardians that following the successful implementation of the Safe Route to School Scheme SRTS, that no parking or set down is available outside the school in the Lacken View Estate.
"In line with national guidelines, the council is encouraging journeys to be made, where possible, by sustainable modes [of transport] to reinforce the improvement in road safety for children accessing the school."
KCC added: "Improvements to the area outside the school will improve student safety which was a key request from parents as part of this National Transport Authority funded scheme."
