Young Irish man, 24, suffers 'life-changing' spinal injury after farming accident

A young man in Kildare has suffered a life changing injury after being involved in a farming accident.

Aaron Farey, aged 24, was involved in a farming accident in August, resulting in a “life-changing spinal cord injury”.

His sisters, Emma, Tara and Orla, have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help their brother with medical costs.

“The future for Aaron is unknown, and he faces a long journey to recovery. Aaron will need to make adaptions to his home, in order for it to be accessible and give him the support that he needs to live an independent life. He will also need to have his car modified to maintain his independence,” said Aaron’s sisters on the fundraiser page.

“Aaron's family are setting up this Go Fund Me requesting your support in putting all of this in place. We want Aaron to live the life of any other young person. He is a positive and resilient person, and he deserves the best chance at living a normal life. The support that Aaron has received so far from family, friends and the racing community has been incredible. It will never be forgotten.

“Any donation you can give big or small is appreciated and will make a positive impact on Aaron’s quality of life moving forward.”

So far, €57,235 have been raised for the young man.
