LATEST: Separate searches for missing teenagers stood down as gardai issue updates

Separate searches for two teenagers who had been reported missing from their homes have been stood down after both were located, gardai have confirmed. 

National appeals for assistance in locating Alice O’Keefe, 17, who was reported missing in Julianstown, County Meath on Monday, September 2 and Kealan Burns, 14, who was reported missing from Castlerea, County Roscommon the following day.

In separate updates, issued this Monday morning, gardai confirmed that both have since been located and that assistance from members of the public is no longer required.

No details have been publicly disclosed regarding the circumstances which led to the two teenagers being located.

Gardai  have thanked members of the public and the media for their assistance and their response to the appeals.
