An Independent councillor has quizzed Kildare County Council (KCC) over pedestrian crossing lights for the Celbridge Road in Clane.
Cllr Pádraig McEvoy raised the matter via a question he submitted to KCC at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting on Friday, September 6 last.
He asked KCC: "Can the council confirm if it anticipates that the pedestrian crossing lights to be installed at the upgraded junction of the R403 Celbridge Road, Clane and the extension of the Inner Relief Road through Capdoo, Clane will be brought into use in advance of the completion and opening of the inner relief road to motorised vehicles?"
KCC told Cllr McEvoy via its report at the meeting: "The traffic signal equipment is currently being installed at the upgraded
junction of the R403 Celbridge Road / Capdoo Inner Relief Road."
"It is anticipated that the traffic signals at this junction shall be operational in advance of the completion of the relief road," KCC added.
