Minister for Education formally opens new buildings at two separate Kildare schools

The Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD, opened two new buildings at schools located in South Kildare yesterday (Thursday, September 12 last.

The new school buildings are located at St Conleth's and Mary's School in Newbridge and St Paul's Secondary School in Monasterevin.

The Fianna Fáil politician was joined on the visit by her party colleague, Senator for Kildare South Fiona O'Loughlin.

Senator O'Loughlin, who is also her party's spokesperson on education, said: "It was my privilege to welcome Minister Foley to South Kildare to show here the huge work that is being carried out by out school communities.

"The new premises in Newbridge and Monasterevin are a testament to the work, the professionalism and the dedication of the schools, the parents and the boards of management."

She continued: "During my time as Chair of the Oireachtas Education Committee I prioritised these school projects, as I could see their huge potential to benefit our local students.

"I will continue to work with Minister Foley, the Department and local schools to improve the educational resources on our areas."

Senator O'Loughlin concluded: "I want to thank the Minister for her visit and look forward to seeing these schools enjoying and making the most of their new spaces."
