Judge Desmond Zaidan was informed about the alleged offence at Naas District Court on Thursday, September 12 last.
A woman allegedly sustained broken teeth as the result of an assault from her ex-partner.
The man appeared via video-link before Judge Desmond Zaidan at Naas District Court, as he is currently in custody.
Gardaí present in the court on Thursday, September 12 last told Judge Zaidan that the defendant allegedly breached a protection order taken out against him by his ex-partner, and that he also allegedly assaulted his ex-partner.
It was alleged that in addition to the broken teeth, she also sustained cuts and bruises as a result of the assault.
The accused’s defending solicitor told the judge that his client was scheduled to have a High Court bail application heard.
Judge Zaidan adjourned the case to a later date in September, in order to allow time for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
He also remanded the man in custody until the case resumes.
