Bid to extend planning permission for €23m solar farm in Kildare

An application to extend planning permission for a proposed solar farm has been submitted to Kildare County Council.

Developers EEPV5 Limited and Elgin Energy Services Limited

The planned facility at Killeenlea, Ardrass Lower and Killadoon, Celbridge will have an operational lifespan of 40 years.

Solar panels will be installed on ground-mounted frames in rows on a site of circa 47.44 hectares.

Also planned is a single storey onsite 38kv electricity substation, 25 number invertor stations, ducting and underground electrical cabling.

Also in the designs is perimeter fencing and 23 number mounted CCTV cameras.

There will also be new access from the L5066 / Killadoon Road, internal tracks and landscaping works.
