Farmers, as well as agricultural contractors, have been reminded by Kildare County Council (KCC) of the upcoming ban on the spreading of organic fertilisers.
KCC said: "[The] spreading of organic fertilisers is prohibited in Kildare from October 1, 2024 to January 12, 2025."
"Also, farmyard manure is prohibited from being landspread or stored on lands from November 1, 2024 to January 12, 2025."
KCC added that breaches of the ban can be reported on https://kildarecoco.ie/YourCouncil/CustomerService/ContactUs/.
