An Garda Síochána have warned drivers to watch out for deer on roads especially during early mornings and at night.
As deer mating season is currently underway an increasing number of motorists in Kildare are reporting sightings of deer running across busy roads.

In a social media post, gardaí said: "Because of the rutting season deer are moving about and making their way onto the road, Be prepared - You may need to be able to stop suddenly, especially if they come out in front of you."
Gardaí also told motorists to the lights of vehicles will startle the deer and to be: "very, very carefule when driving out there."
The warning has been met with both humour and exasperation as on commentator simply put it: "Oh deer" while another wrote: "It won't make a difference how cautious/vigilant you are when one jumps out last moment onto your car."
