Christmas lights and Santa come to Naas on Saturday

Naas Library and Cultural Centre

Santa Claus will come to Naas on Saturday, November 30.

And locally-based but internationally known soprano Celine Byrne will perform and turn on the Christmas lights.

Santa is due to arrive at  around 11am at the grotto in the new Naas Library and Cultural Centre having made his way from the Civil Defence building at Aras Chill Dara through the town, ably assisted by his elves and escorted by local gardaí, some of whom will be on horseback.

People are being asked to help decorate the outdoor library space by making a Christmas decoration from recycled or natural materials such. acorns, leaves, paper or feathers.

There will be live music at the courthouse area from noon and the lights will be switched on at 5pm.

The annual Christmas markets will return to Abbey Street, finishing at 5pm on the day.

The markets will return again on Saturday, December 7. The market stands will be selling jewellery, candles, wreaths and homemade baskets.
