Teach Tearmainn receives €2,500 cheque as the AXA Local Community Award winners

Gerry Simpson, Branch Manager, AXA Insurance, Naas presented Lorraine Rowan from Teach Tearmainn with a cheque for €2,500 as the AXA Local Community Award winners.

The AXA Community Awards aim to empower community groups that are actively working to deliver positive change with each of their 24 branches awarding €2,500 to a local group that can demonstrate how their work is contributing to their local community. 

This AXA Community Award demonstrates how Teach Tearmainn is contributing to a safer and more resilient future for their local community.

Teach Tearmainn is a non-profit organization, with charitable status, serving women and children who are experiencing domestic violence and abuse.  Teach Tearmainn (meaning House of Refuge) was established in 1999. 

Along with their purpose built refuge, Teach Tearmainn has a dedicated Outreach Centre located in Naas.
