ALERT: Met Eireann warns of significant snowfall accumulations as series of Weather Warnings issued
Met Eireann is warns of significant snowfall accumulations for parts of Ireland this weekend as it has issued a series of Weather Warnings for the whole country.
A Status Orange Snow-Ice warning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wicklow, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary comes into effect at 5pm on Saturday until 5pm on Sunday.
It warns that significant snowfall accumulations are expected leading to very difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, travel disruption delays to public transport likely (air, rail, bus), difficult conditions underfoot and animal welfare issues.
There is also a Status Yellow Rain and Snow warning for Cork and Kerry that is valid from 1pm on Saturday until 5pm on Sunday. It warns of heavy rain transitioning to sleet and snow that will lead to Hazardous travelling conditions, Poor visibility, Travel disruption and Localised flooding
There is also a Status Yellow Snow-Ice warning for Leinster, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, and Connacht.
Met Eireann is warning that there will be falls of sleet and snow with snowfall accumulations expected.
This will lead to Hazardous travelling conditions, Poor visibility and Travel disruption.
This warning comes inot effect at 5pm on Saturday and currently remains in place until 5pm on Sunday.
