Naas GAA: Gallagher appointment 'not going ahead'

Naas GAA have had second thoughts on the appointment of former Derry manager, Rory Gallagher, taking up the role of Head Coach, alongside manager Joe Murphy, with the four-in-a-row county champions, the Leinster Leader, has learned.

Only last Saturday in an exculsive report, the Leinster Leader and Kildare Now reported the impending appointment of the controversial Gallagher.

Now, however, and after much delibration and discussion over the weekend, the Leinster Leader can confirm, that the appointment will not be going ahead.

It is understood that discussions between manager Joe Murphy and Rory Gallagher had been held and a decision for Gallagher to link-up had been agreed. Now howerver, while the club has not made any official statement, we, Leinster Leader and Kildare Now, have learned from a 'trusted source' that the appointment will not be proceeding.
