Schools in Kildare wanted for the 2025 Credit Union Schools Quiz

The Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) is delighted to announce the launch of the 2025 Credit Union Schools Quiz with children from primary schools in Kildare and across Ireland encouraged to participate.

The Schools Quiz, which attracts more than 25,000 participating students each year, is the largest competition of its type in Ireland. Run over three stages between the months of January to April, the competition culminates in a national final in the RDS Dublin on Sunday 6th April 2025.

Winners from the regional rounds will progress to the final where 100 teams will compete for the title of champions, with a prize fund of €4,000 to be shared among the competition category finalists and winners.

The competition is divided by age group into two categories. Competition A is categorised for entrants under 11 years of age and Competition B is for children under 13 years of age.

A prize of €1,250 is up for grabs for the prevailing teams of each category for their schools, with the runners up receiving €750 for their school. Prizes will also be awarded to teams at the local and regional finals.

We are also pleased that TV Presenter, MC, and Content Creator extraordinaire John Sharpson, known to many as Múinteoir John, will again be our Quiz master for the National Final in the RDS.

Commenting on the launch of the 2025 quiz, ILCU President Martin Busch said;

“The launch of the annual Credit Unions School Quiz is always a great way to kickstart the year, for students, their families, teachers, and everyone associated with the competition.

“The quiz is very much in the spirit of the credit union movement and the role we play in communities around the country, and we are proud that it is such a fixture for so many. As always, the very best of luck to those competing and I would encourage as many aspossible to get involved.”

Schools should contact their local credit union to see if they are participating in the Quiz. Additional information on the Schools Quiz is available at creditunion.ie.
