STORM EOWYN: Ireland on alert as Met Eireann warns of destructive winds as serious warnings issued
Met Eireann has put Ireland on alert as Storm Eowyn is set to bring severe, damaging and destructive gusts of up to 130km/h widely on Friday with even higher gusts for a time.
Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange Wind Warning for all of Ireland from 2am on Friday until 5pm on Friday.
It warns that Storm Eowyn will bring gale force southerly winds becoming westerly and will bring severe, damaging and destructive gusts of up to 130km/h widely, with even higher gusts for a time.

Met Eireann warns that impacts will include fallen trees, damage to power lines and power outages, structural damage, very difficult travelling conditions, disruption and cancellations to transport and wave overtopping.
A Status Orange Wind Warning is issued for infrequent and dangerous weather conditions which may pose a threat to life and property.
Met Eireann advises that you should prepare yourself in an appropriate way depending on location and activity. All people and property in the affected areas can be significantly impacted.
