ALERT: Major recall issued in Kildare as popular children's product poses serious choking risk

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a nationwide alert to parents in County Kildare and beyond amid a recall of a popular children's product over serious fears of choking.

Ravensburger is carrying out a recall of Pop-it Spinner: Leopard and Pop-it Spinner: Monkey.

The risk reported to the CCPC is that of choking. Small parts may detach from the product, which a small child may place in their mouth and choke.

The product details can be found below:

The batch numbers can be found on the bottom of the packaging and on the product (under one of the three leaf-shaped wings). If in doubt, it is recommended to return the product.

There are approximately 417 affected products in the Republic of Ireland. The product was sold at the following retailers:

  • Brown Thomas / Arnotts
  • Coggs, St.Stephens Green, Dublin
  • O’Connors World of Wonder, Tralee
  • Hopkins Toymaster, Wicklow Town
  • Duffy’s Toyworld, Dunleer
  • Stakelum Office Supplies, Thurles
  • Kelly’s Toymaster, Tullamore
  • Toymaster Ballina
  • Fagan Toys, Mullingar
  • Toy Corner, Moycullen

What to do:

Customers should stop using the product immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.

Please return the affected products either:

Directly to Ravensburger by completing the returns form on the Ravensburger website or to the original store of purchase with proof of purchase.
