The Kildare Wildlife Rescue Centre is looking for donations of mountain bike tyres.

"We are currently seeking donations of used mountain bike tyres to improve our avian patients enclosures. Tyres with punctures are suitable, road bike and vehicle tyres are not. We are only looking for the tyre, please do not donate tyres on the rims as we are not equipped to dispose of them. Donations can be dropped into the centre seven days a week between 9am and 5pm," said the charity in a post on its Facebook page.

Kildare Wildlife Rescue (KWR) is a registered charity for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. It operates a Wildlife Hospital and Rehabiliation Centre in Kildare Town.

Kildare Wildlife Rescue is also launching a new training event to get like-minded people together to become part of a nationwide troop who know how to help wildlife. This training is open to everyone but participants should be active and competent in the outdoors. Hikers, wild swimmers, beach clean up crews, and people who are in nature are ideal candidates.
Kildare Wildlife Rescues first "Wildlife First Response for Mass casualty Events" (WFR-MCE) training event will take place on March 21 in Portlaoise. For further details, check out their Facebook page.
