The Courts Service has announced that extensive roof works  are due to take place in Naas Courthouse this summer due to health and safety concerns.

The roof of the Courthouse will be completely refurbished.

The works will commence on the 15th July for a period of 4 months. The expected completion date is 15th November 2019.

The Naas Court Sittings have to be relocated for the duration of the works.

All efforts have been made to find a suitable nearby alternative venue and minimize the disruptions to the operations of the Courts and Court users in a non-purpose built facility.

Naas Racecourse has agreed to accommodate most of the relocated District Court sittings, all Circuit Court sittings and all County Registrar Motion Courts for the duration of the works.

Some of the relocated District court sittings will be held in Athy for some of the dates during these works.

It is anticipated that all vacation and out of hours courts will also sit in Athy.

The Court public Office will remain open  and will be accessible through the Basin street entrance.

The Courts Service said: "We thank you for your patience and cooperation during the roof works."
