Kildare Gardaí renewing appeals for people to keep valuables out of sight in cars while visiting graveyards

Kildare Gardaí are renewing appeals for people to keep valuables out of sight in their cars while visiting graveyards following a number of thefts.

On Saturday, May 4, a woman returned about 3pm to her car, after tending to her grandmother's grave, at Abbey Graveyard, Kilcullen, only to discover that the window of her car had been smashed.

Also recently, a car parked outside the graveyard at Dublin Road, Athy, reported a white hatchback with a Northern Ireland registration, and returned later to find that her handbag was stolen from the car.

Garda Sean O'Mahony said: “Keep property out of sight in cars while visiting graveyards.”
