Gardaí issue advice to public in relation to phishing  scams

As part of an intelligence led operation, targeting organised criminality, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau carried out a search of a residence in the Ballyfermot area, last  Monday night.

During the course of the operation Gardaí seized heroin to the value of €280,000 and cocaine to the value of €12,000 (pending analysis). A 48-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Ballyfermot Garda Station.

Speaking today Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll of Special Crime Operations said: "An Garda Síochána is committed to disrupting the activities of organised criminals supplying drugs to our communities. This seizure of a substantial quantity of heroin and cocaine is significant in disrupting this supply.”
