Celbridge getting set for works to upgrade footpaths

This Monday works due to start

A North Kildare TD  says that works to upgrade the footpaths in Celbridge’s main street will start on Monday.

Deputy Frank O'Rourke said:“Works to upgrade the footpaths on the main street in Celbridge are to start next week."

He said:“Over the last number of years, I have fought hard to ensure that we improve the aesthetics of the main street in Celbridge. We have made huge progress, new street lighting, new road surface, the unsightly overhead cables are replaced by underground cables and the shop fronts are all painted, these are examples of the progress we have made.”

Deputy O'Rourke said:“The upgrade of the footpath from Castletown Gates to English Row will commence next week and be carried out in phases to minimise disruption to businesses and the public. We now must focus on ensuring that as the population of Celbridge increases again, we must start to provide community, sporting, educational and public transport services in tandem with increased population rather than playing catch up in years to come."
