Boarded-up homes in Rathangan unacceptable during housing crisis - Sinn Fein candidate

Candidate statement

Boarded-up homes in St Patrick's Park in Rathangan have been labelled "a disgrace" by Sinn Fein candidate Patricia Ryan.

Monasterevin native Patricia Ryan has claimed St Patrick's Park in Rathangan is "proof of Kildare County Councils and FF/FG true colours on housing "in that they say they care but here is proof.

"They don't. These houses have been boarded up for years and in the middle of a housing crises this is a disgrace".

The houses are owned by the Council and have been going through a regeneration project for a number of years but all still remain vacant.

Ryan continued: "Sinn Fein have for over five years been demanding that these houses are fixed and families put in.

"But the FF/FG controlled Council have done nothing other then give words to getting new houses for those on the waiting lists".
