A truck fire on the N7 near Newlands Cross is causing delays.

The vehicle appears to be carrying a cargo of drinks bottles.

Firefighters from Tallaght Fire Station helped extinguished the blaze on the Tallaght/Clondalkin outbound slip road on the N7 at Newlands Cross.

Visibility was affected on the N7 from smoke and steam as the fire was being fought.

Two of the lanes remained closed as recovery of the vehicle takes place.

The main N7 lanes are unaffected.
