Naas Poetry Nights part of Mid Summer Arts Festival

Nationally and internationally renowned poets are descending on Naas this Friday and Saturday evening as part of this year's Mid-Summer Arts Festival.

On Friday night starting at 7pm Mai Leonard will host a poetry evening where two local poets Derek Coyle and Maura O’Neill will both launch their collections.  On the night there will be music from THE HIDEOUT a young duo of Sean Kenny and Graham Halton both from Naas. With wine and cheese and music and poetry the event promises to be fun and lively. The evening will begin at 7pm at The Luisne Gardens at McAuley place and should finish at approximately 9pm. There is no admission fee.

On  Saturday there will be three poets of national and international renown. Annmarie Ni Chuirreain from Donegal, Adam Wyeth from England and Cynthia Menendez from Spain will give an evening of poetry in the Nun’s chapel at McAuley place. This evening starts at 6.30pm and will begin with a  flamenco set by Sandra Palomar from Spain. Sandra will perform flamenco to the poetry of Garcia Lorca. This will also have a wine and cheese reception and is also a free event.
