Residents and Gardai launched the new clinic in the Eyre Powell Direct Provision Centre Newbridge on Sunday
Kildare Gardaí recently launched An Garda Síochána's first Restorative Garda Clinic in the Eyre Powell Direct Provision Centre, Newbridge last Sunday.
Sergeant Darren Coventry- Howlett and Garda Craig Walsh co-facilitated this initiative in an effort to apply a restorative approach, focusing on community empowerment and problem solving to enhance the quality of life for residents at the centre in Newbridge.
This initiative was strongly supported by both residents and staff who welcomed the opportunity to engage with Garda members as equal partners to the initiative.
