Councillor Paul Ward said that the current litter collection service is not coping with the problem of litter in Kilcock at the weekend.

The politician will raise that issue with Kildare Co Council officials at the next local Municipal District meeting in Naas

Cllr Ward called for "a review to be undertaken of the litter collection services / allocation and style/size of bins in and around Kilcock town centre."

He added: "The current service is not adequately coping with the litter issue at the weekends in Kilcock."

On the same subject, Councillor Aidan Farrelly will call on the Council to increase the current resources allocated to Robertstown village in relation to litter, litter warden, litter bins and litter signage."

In another Kilcock-related motion before the Municipal District meeting, Councillor Ward will also ask that the Council undertake to review and repair numerous broken road signs and disused poles in and around Kilcock.
