Dry at first today with some bright or sunny spells with patchy rain expected for Co Kildare today.
According to Met Eireann forecasters, patchy rain and drizzle will move in from the west during the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 or 20 degrees, warmest in the south in any sunshine.
Westerly winds will be moderate.
It will be mainly dry overnight with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 9 or 10 degrees, in moderate to fresh westerly breezes.
However, by midweek the weather will remain unsettled with heavy rain predicted on Thursday.
Tomorrow, Wednesday will be a bright and blustery day with good spells of sunshine and passing showers. It will feel quite fresh with top temperatures of just 13 to 18 degrees, again best in the south, with fresh and gusty northwest winds, strong to near gale along northern coasts for a time in the afternoon.
The showers will clear on Wednesday night to leave a dry and mostly clear night. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in moderate westerly winds.
"Dry in many places on Thursday and milder with sunny spells and afternoon highs of 16 to 19 or possibly 20 degrees but clouding over from the west later in the day. Winds will be mostly moderate and westerly. A band of persistent and locally heavy rain will move across the country on Thursday night but clearer weather will follow into northern counties later,"said forecasters.
