Gardaí in Naas recently arrested a driver who was detected speeding at 179kph in a 120kph zone on the Garda Mobility Device.
The driver was previously disqualified from driving and had no insurance.
The motorist has since been charged and appeared yesterday morning.
Gardaí are appealing for motorists to adhere to speed limits on the road and to slow down.
