BREAKING: Kildare aircraft crash results in fatality

The accident scene near Brannockstown

Crash experts are this morning working in sub zero temperatures to establish the cause of a fatal aircraft accident near Brannockstown last night.

It’s understood the accident claimed the life of a Dublin man when the four seater helicopter crashed on rolling farmland late yesterday afternoon.

The accident happened about 300 metres from the main road.

The crash location is near the R412 which links the Naas to Kilcullen Road with Dunlavin.

The helicopter crashed  on the Dunlavin side of Brannockstown about five kilometres from the west Wicklow town.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit has deployed three officers to the scene.

A number of fire service personnel and gardaí are also there as well as a hearse.

The accident scene has been screened off from public view.
